William DeJong, Ph.D. is a consultant specializing in strategic planning and program design for public health interventions, with a focus on changing social norms and behaviors; health communications; technology transfer; and policy and program evaluation. From 2001-2018, he served as a Professor of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health. He served as Director of the U.S. Department of Education’s Higher Education Center for Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Violence Prevention from 1995-2004, and from 2007-2011 as Director of Research and Program Development for Outside The Classroom, an alcohol online education company later acquired by EVERFI, Inc. He is the author of over 400 monographs, book chapters, academic papers, and other publications in substance abuse prevention, health promotion, criminal justice, social psychology, and the use of media to change social norms and behaviors.
