Preview of the Meeting
The 2018 RRForum will begin with a “Meet and Greet” the evening of Sunday, April 29th, with the conference held all day Monday, April 30th and through noon on Tuesday, May 1st.
Day 1 will look at the problems of over-service / over-consumption and the ways in which licensees and their communities can guard themselves against the potential harm to customers and the community – and potential liability for servers and establishments – that are associated with over-consumption.
- Representatives from MetLife Stadium (operations and concessions), the only venue in the country home to two NFL teams, will share their Game Day best practices to ensure safe service and consumption in a venue of 2.1 million square feet (40-acre property) and a seating capacity of 82,500.
- The Kentucky Distillers will describe their responsibility initiative with Better Drinking Culture to re-shape the culture of drinking with their members on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail
- An examination of how new, non-invasive technologies can be employed by licensees to monitor alcohol consumption and how this can impact establishments.
Day 2 – Alcohol Responsibility 101: What we have learned about preventing underage alcohol sales and over-service…will present effective prevention policies and programs. Alcohol Responsibility 101 will present research on why underage sales and over-service are most apt to occur; what measures have been shown to enhance compliance with the alcohol sales laws; and how these Responsible Retailing principles can be applied by local governments, prevention agencies and licensees and their industry partners.
